MAGTRAPS

WHAT ARE MAGTRAPS?

REMOVE UNWANTED FERROUS AND
WORK-HARDENED STAINLESS FROM PROCESSING LINES

MagTraps work with virtually all pumped products. They capture the very finest of particles that pass undetected through electronic metal detectors.  These powerful magnetic line traps are available in more than 30 off-the-shelf models and an unlimited number of custom configurations when manufactured to customer specifications. Metal trash and fines, including work-hardened stainless steel as small as 0.0001 inches are captured by the MagTrap’s powerful, rare-earth, neodymium magnets and held in-place until cleaned. Powered by proprietary, easy to clean, tube or plate circuits that operate to pressures of 750 PSI and temperatures of 500°F. All Cesco MagTraps are certified sanitary and guaranteed to meet USDA and 3A standards. MagTraps may be mounted in vertical, horizontal, or sloped lines and are available in 1/2″ through 6″ line sizes. To learn more about the two different styles of MagTraps as well as suitable applications, product specifications, and how to properly size a MagTrap continue reading below. AUDIT AND INSPECTION REQUEST

Due to heat exposure and physical damage over it’s life, MagTraps begin to loose their magnetic strength and under perform. To assure your facility’s MagTraps are working properly, F&H offers an on-site audit and inspection. We are the only Cesco authorized MagTrap inspector in the United States. After inspection, we will provide you with a certified maintenance record sheet stating a detailed condition report for each of the inspected MagTraps. If you’re interested in a certified MagTrap audit and inspection, an F&H representative can come directly to your facility to test your MagTraps and provide you with any needed maintenance advice for insuring a clean and safe processing line.

For an audit and inspection, we charge $150 per unit inspection. Depending on your plant’s location, an extra mileage charge may also apply. We offer a price break for inspecting more than 25 units in a given day. To learn more about our on-site MagTrap audit and inspection, fill out the request form below.

TUBE "FINGER" MAGNETS

Used for liquids, purees, and products with smaller (less than 1/2″) included solids not susceptible to size reduction. Tube magnet models: 130, 135, 135EC, 170 and Micro MagTrap.

FLAT PLATE MAGNETS

For products with fragile included solids (fruit preserves, cooked meat chunks, cottage cheese, etc.) chunks larger than 1/2″, long, sinewy items, and products that are hard to pump. Flat plate magnets: 115, 120 and 125.

MAGNET CLEANING ASSEMBLY

The magnet cleaning assembly is one of the latest product offerings from Cesco Magnetics. Designed to help with the cleaning process, the magnet cleaning assembly attaches to the MagTrap body and element and provides a safe place for the magnetic element. HOW TO SIZE MAGTRAPS

Use TABLE 1 to select your product’s viscosity class (Example: Water is Class 1, Molasses is Class 4), then move to TABLE 2. From TABLE 2, match your line’s viscosity class and maximum pumping capacity with the MagTraps’ maximum flow rates and select the appropriate line size.
